Clifford A. Goldman served as State Treasurer and Deputy State Treasurer in the Byrne Administration. He had first joined the New Jersey State government in the administration of Governor Richard J. Hughes as an assistant to Commissioner Paul Ylvislaker of the Department of Community Affairs, and worked with Ylvislaker in efforts to calm the urban riots in Newark and Plainfield in the summer of 1967. He later was named as the first executive director of the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission by Governor Hughes and continued in that role into the Administration of Governor William Cahill. He has been a Partner with Goldman, Beale Associates, a financial advisory firm which plans and arranges financing for public sector projects in New Jersey. In addition, he previously was a Visiting Professor at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University and holds a Ph.D and masters degree from the Woodrow Wilson School and a B.A. from Rutgers University.
