Tom Wilson served as Executive Director of the New Jersey Republican State Committee in 1995, managed the successful 1997 re-election campaign of Governor Christine Todd Whitman, and was later elected Chairman of New Jersey’s Republican Party in 2004. Before serving as Chairman, he was a partner for seven years in a successful public affairs firm based in Trenton. Tom represented a portfolio of clients that ranged from Fortune 500 pharmaceutical companies to small trade associations. His professional experience also includes senior level positions in government having served as the Chief of Staff to Assembly Speaker Garabed “Chuck” Haytaian and Communications Director for Governor Donald T. DiFrancesco. In 2001, Tom was appointed by Governor DiFrancesco to the Board of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority. He later served as a communications consultant to the campaign of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. Today, Tom volunteers as a Board Member of the Carrier Clinic, New Jersey’s largest non-profit mental and behavioral healthcare facility. He was named a Visiting Associate at the Eagleton Institute for Politics for the 2012-2013 academic year and is a frequent lecturer there and at the Rebovich Institute for New Jersey Politics at Rider University.
