Saul Cooperman has worked as a teacher, high school principal and superintendent of schools in Montgomery Township and Madison, NJ. He was commissioner of the NJ Department of Education from 1982-1990. He was president of the R.E.A.D.Y. Foundation in Newark, NJ during the 1990’s. Cooperman has written a book about education, How Schools Really Work: Practical Advice for Parents from on Insider, published in 1999, and many articles published in professional journals. He has an MA and Ph.D. in education from Rutgers University.
