Robert Torricelli was a Member of the House of Representatives from 1983 to 1997 and a United States Senator from 1997-2003. Representing New Jersey’s Ninth District (Bergen County) in the House, he served alongside then-Congressman Jim Florio for six years and then interacted with Governor Florio throughout Florio’s gubernatorial term. As a Senator, Torricelli was a member of the Finance, Governmental Affairs, Foreign Relations, Judiciary, and Rules Committees. He was also chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in 1999 and 2000. After leaving the Senate in 2003, Torricelli established the business strategy firm Rosemont Associates, LLC and currently also owns Woodrose Properties, LLC, a real estate development firm.
