Karen Kessler was the finance director for Governor Florio’s 1989 and 1993 campaigns for governor and his 2000 campaign for U.S. Senate. She also served as the deputy director of Florio’s transition team following the successful 1989 campaign. Kessler is the co-founder of Evergreen Partners, a firm specializing in crisis communications and fund-raising event planning for nonprofits. Her work focuses on product liability, tax matters, environmental and political interests, and corporate governance. A New Jersey native, she earned an economics degree from Vassar College and studied at Princeton University and the London School of Economics. She has served on boards of both public and private companies, including Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and was appointed the first woman commissioner of the NJ Sports and Exposition Authority.
