Governors and the Coronavirus

Governors have been on the front lines and squarely in the public eye in the national response to COVID-19. At the Eagleton Center on the American Governor, we have been following this response and providing links and analysis. We encourage you to follow us on Twitter for the latest, but we will also update this page with relevant information and articles.

Resources

  • The National Governors Association has an excellent resource page chronicling how governors from all 50 states and all five U.S. territories have been responding to the crisis. They update this page regularly and provide links to relevant executive orders.
  • COVID-19 will have a dramatic impact on state economies. Last fall, we hosted a roundtable with Governor Corzine and members of his administration on navigating the 2008-2009 Great Recession. Look back on that conversation as we consider what may lie ahead.
  • Eagleton Center on the American Governor Senior Scholar Din Ambar weighed in on New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s leadership during the COVID-19 outbreak in New York. Read his op-ed in the N.Y. Daily News.
